A bit about our footwear
Our footwear department is large and hard to categorize, so let me walk you through it a little bit. First of all we have the Oxfords. Your typical dress or work related shoe, many of which are certified for use in the postal service. Whether you need a pair of dress shoes, work shoes, or generally tasteful pair of slip-ons to accompany a pair of khakis or chinos, you can find them right here. Running, athletic, and casual footwear (even camouflage Converse!) can be found under Athletic Shoes. Then there are the boots. You could spend forever browsing our boots. Luckily you do not have to because we have done our best to split them up into reasonable-sized chunks.
Slip-on & Wellington
Every boot in this category is a slip-on. There are no laces, ties, or adjustments to be had and on average, they reach about mid-calf. Some of them even have steel-toes. If you find that you get sick of lacing up boots, or have to take them on and off often throughout the day, a pair of Wellingtons will probably suit you well. These are great boots for when you have to step out of the house for a quick grocery run or yard chore. Just slip them on, shovel the deck, warm up the car, and pop right back inside.
In this category we placed all of our tan-colored boots. Many people prefer this color (or require it) and we decided to make it easy to search the numerous designs available in that tan color. Many of these boots come with ripple soles to allow greater traction in sandy environments.
Jungle Boots are easily recognized by the canvas upper. Since the majority of the boot is canvas, these boots are light, the only weight comes from the thick rubber sole. In addition to this these boots have drainage vents near the arch of the foot to allow water and moisture to quickly drain out. This is a design in response to the humid and soggy environment of Vietnam, where water is guaranteed to get into a pair of boots and prolonged use without proper drainage can lead to the incredibly uncomfortable condition called trench foot.
Our Combat Boots are generally characterized by uninterrupted leather or faux-leather uppers. They come in all different shapes and heights with many different lace-up styles, and some even zip up the side. These boots, though no longer in military use, are oft-sought by fashionistas and punks alike. They are tough, and comfortable after you have made your way through the break-in period. Though they may be worn as a fashion device, they still retain the ability to kick a door in should the need arise.
In our Tactical Boots category you will find our most comfortable and lightweight boots. These boots are optimal for security and rescue personnel. Many of them are safety-toe boots and all of them are made for high performance. So when the job (or lifestyle) requires comfort, durability, and high-tech versatility these are the boots you will want.
Other than that we have more self-explained categories; hiking boots, work boots, cold and wet weather boots. Let us know if theres anything we are missing that you would like to see.
